Calling all prospective board members

The Wells Branch Armada has been a staple of the Wells Branch Community for over 35 years. Being able to sustain something like that takes a very intentional effort, and a group of individuals to make it happen.

My daughter started with Armada last year as a 6 and under, and fell in love with swimming. I was taught that when the volunteer call goes out in an organization that you are invested in, to raise your hand. When my kid loves something as much as my daughter loves Armada, it was clear I was invested, and I raised my hand. I joined the board for the 2025 season.

Serving on the board has been a wonder. The time commitment is reasonable and the work is challenging enough. Solving problems on the fly, executing a plan, and working with a team are all skills that I enjoy. My position as circuit representative involved me meeting with the other 12 teams in our circuit (league) monthly. I helped write the schedule, amend the events and order, and write the updated code of conduct. All of these things went directly towards the success of the team that my daughter and her teammates LOVE.

Serving as a board member is rewarding. Not only to see the young swimmers succeed, but because it is personally rewarding to work with other individuals who want to take their particular skill set and apply it to the greater good of our community. The call for volunteer board members has gone out, and I hope you'll raise your hand. We need you.
