Issue 10: June 21, 2026
As we dive into the final weekend of the 2026 season, we're preparing for the biggest competitions of the summer! On Saturday, our swimmers will compete in the Division 4 Championship Meet, where every swimmer has the opportunity to help the Armada earn points and compete for the divisional title. Then on Sunday, our fastest swimmers will take on the best competitors from across the Northwest Swim Circuit at the NWSC Invitational Meet, reserved exclusively for swimmers who have achieved qualifying times during the season.
A reminder to all Invitational qualifiers: participation in the Divisional Championship Meet is required in order to compete at Invitationals. Swimmers who achieve a new qualifying time at Divisionals will have an opportunity to register for Invitationals immediately following Saturday's meet.
Whether your swimmer is racing at Divisionals, Invitationals, or both, this weekend represents the culmination of months of hard work, early mornings, personal growth, and team spirit. Let's fill the pool deck with Armada Pride, cheer loudly for every swimmer.
Interested in taking on a larger role with the team? We're always looking for prospective board members, so if you'd like to be considered for a role on the board please fill out our board self-nomination form. Or talk to any board member at the pool. Parents who are committed year-round help keep this special team going. Please consider serving!
Captain's Log
by Patrick Ricci, President
Congratulations, Armada! Not only did we make it through another fantastic regular season, but we won our first meet of the year!
As one of the smallest teams in the circuit, we tend to focus more on helping each individual swimmer improve their skills and be the best swimmer they can be—and less on … well, winning swim meets. But our swimmers turned in some of their best performances of the summer and brought home a resounding victory against Rattan Creek!
I especially loved seeing the good sportsmanship on display from both teams, with swimmers congratulating each other after some very close finishes on fast swims. Let's keep that competitive spirit and positive energy going as we head into Divisionals.
And now let's show our coaches how much we appreciate all they do to help our kids swim their best.
This Tuesday (6/23) will be COACHES APPRECIATION DAY at practice. Check out the binder by the file folder boxes or this online list to discover some of your favorite coaches' favorite things. Feel free to express your appreciation in whatever way you desire—write a thank-you note, leave them some candy or a snack, or just tell them how much you've valued their dedication, expertise, and leadership/mentoring throughout the season. You'll see tables set up at practice on Tuesday if you'd like to leave something.
Coaches, on behalf of the Armada board, THANK YOU!
Coaches' Corner
By: Coach Maddie
What an amazing and impressive final home meet! Armada, we won! We beat the Hurricanes!
What a great way to prove all the hard work you've put in this season! You all went out there and made our final home meet count. Across the board, we saw 205 time improvements and celebrated several new invitational qualifiers. We also cheered on some of our youngest swimmers as they competed in their first dual meet of the season. We all also got to watch a pretty fun relay from our aging out swimmers. Each of you truly made the best of this meet and made it count. All the coaches are incredibly proud of your performances.
Keep up the hard work as we head into our final week of practice.
That’s right, we’re in the last week of the season! Let’s finish strong and make it our best week yet. Practices will bring some challenge, and coaches will be encouraging swimmers to chase any remaining goals they’ve set for themselves.
Don’t forget to join us for our final Fun Friday on June 26. Family members and siblings are welcome to join us for the fun!
