Greetings Armada Families! We had an excellent meet against Pflugerville this past Saturday, and thanks to all of our hardworking volunteers, we finished another meet well ahead of schedule! It is so hard to believe that we are now past the halfway point of the 2017 season!! It seems like just yesterday we were starting our first day of practice! It has been awesome to see all of your swimmers improve so much in this short amount of time, keep up the good work. This week we have our second tri-meet of the season against the Dolphins and the Tidal Waves. Please read the email Paul sent out regarding the earlier check-in time for this meet.
As a reminder our Chipotle Spirit Night is coming up this Wednesday the 21 st , from 3pm-8pm at the Chipotle in La Frontera. Come on out for a late lunch or for dinner (or both), that day as 50% of the proceeds will go back to the Armada.
I would also like to ask that the red WBA lost and found bin be checked by everyone at least once this week. After the meet against Pflugerville, the bin is literally overflowing with items that were left at the pool; when I stood next to it on Sunday the pile was as tall as me. If you are at practice this week and you do not see the bin out, please ask a coach or a board member to bring it out for you.
Swim-A-Thon funds are due on June 30th . Board members will collect folders during all swim practices, and there is also a file in the Board/Coaches box that is next to the family file folders, where you can turn in your Swim-A-Thon envelopes. See y’all at the pool this week!

"It's not the team with the best swimmers that wins. It's the swimmers with the best team that wins."
Absolutely true and especially evident at our meet against the Piranhas last Saturday. After spending time working on relays last week our swimmers took those skills and were successful in getting the fewest number of relay DQs we've had this season! Other amazing moments this weekend included swimmers swimming events for the first time, in a meet for the first time or achieving a very long awaited goal. We are so proud of all of you!
The end of our season is quickly approaching and I know everyone is working hard toward their goals. The coaches are here to help you and we welcome any questions you may have. Let's keep working hard! Coach Gina
Scholarship Applications - Due June 30
Applicants: Please complete the application and return it and all necessary paperwork to my Board file box, Brenda Pinkston (Secretary), on or before the June 30th deadline. If you or your swimmer have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 512-994-7939. Congrats to your seniors and best of luck to everyone!

End of Season Meets - Reminders
Hi Armada Parents and Swimmers!
High Point Earners
Just a friendly reminder that the Armada has a requirement that anyone receiving the high point award has swum all individual events offered for their age group for which they do not have to "swim up." To qualify, events must be swum at dual meets where points may be earned (ie, not at the Red, White, and Blue meet, nor at Divisionals). Please note that the swimmer must have attempted the event in a dual meet, but need not have obtained a legal time (so if DQ'd, that counts as their attempt). Also, events entered at the rained out meet also count as their attempt, provided the swimmer is listed on the official attendance report. .
This policy is discussed in detail in this FAQ.
Divisionals and Invitationals Meets
Please also keep in mind that to swim at our end-of-season Divisional meet, a swimmer must swim in two dual meets AND have a legal time in each event they enter at this meet. We really need as many of our swimmers as possible to enter the Divisional meet. Swimmers that are not usually point earners may earn points at the Divisional meet, as points are awarded for places 1-8.
Also, please remember that it is an Armada team rule that a swimmer who wishes to swim in the Invitational Meet must swim at the Divisional meet.
We appreciate your cooperation with the above requirements, which we feel emphasize the team nature of this mostly individual team sport.
