Captain's Log

by Paul Wadehra, Meet Director

Thanks to all of you for another outstanding season! I really enjoyed watching our swimmers grow so much over the 10 weeks.

Be on the lookout for a parent survey in the next week or so. We need your feedback to continue to improve the Armada experience.

Have a great summer, a great school year, and we'll see you back next May at the pool!

Coach's Corner

by Gina Zayas, Head Coach

Our last week of practice started out with “Funday Monday”.  It was so much fun for the coaches as well as the swimmers!  We played games, held cannonball contests, played with super-soakers, hunted for treasure, and ate lots of icy pops!  The day ended with Coach Danielle leaving to begin a new chapter in her life as a pediatric nurse in Amarillo.  The goodbye was both happy and sad but she assured me that she would be back to visit next season.  We wish her all the best.

After a really fun week of invitational practice for some and a laid back, relaxed practice for others, we finished the season with the invitational meet at UT.  The swims were great and the attitudes were fun.  I loved seeing our swimmers laugh with each other, play cards in between races, and talk to friends from other teams.  Everyone just enjoyed the experience and I was so pleased to see that.  Great work swimmers!

I know I echo other coaches' feelings as well when I say that this was one of our favorite seasons. It is always sad to see it come to an end.  Swimmers, we wish you all the best this year in school and all the other many activities you are involved in.  Parents, thank you again for the opportunity to work with your swimmer/s and we wish you all the best too this upcoming year.

The one thing I do know is that as quickly as this awesome season flew by it will be back again just as fast.  Before you know it we will be seeing you at registration and wondering how it is that time of year again for friends, fun, and swimming!

See you soon!
